Research Interests
Prof. Kitchens’ research involves advanced materials development for technological advancement in the fields of nanotechnology, renewable resources, membranes and smart materials. Our research is focused on the synthesis, processing, and application of surface-modified nanomaterials using tailored chemical functionalities. We also employ materials processing with tunable fluids, the design of stimuli-responsive materials, and neutron scattering characterization techniques. Dr. Kitchens has many educational and outreach activities focused on Nanotechnology, Green Chemistry, and Green Engineering.
